Eco Friendly Ganesha Theme DescriptionGanesha idol is made from Shadu Clay and painted with natural colors of Haldi, Kumkum, Geru and Beetroot. Idol is 13 inches in height.Decoration is 7ft long, 4.5ft wide and 7.5ft high.Sheshshahi Naag (5 headed cobra) is 14ft long and hood is 2ft wide.Trunk of the cut tree is 2.5ft round and 3ft in height. Largest log is 2ft round and 4ft long. All of them are very light in weight as skeleton of thin wires is being covered with papers and then painted. Wooden toy snakes are helping to make the scene real.Backdrop is hand painted using water colors. It is basically white cloth fixed on wooden frame and then painted like wall painting. Many cut trees are seen on the right side of the backdrop and Lord Ganesha is trying to prevent further cutting of the trees seen on the left side of the backdrop. We have used eco-friendly materials like newspaper, handmade paper, tissue paper, glue, wires, etc..Grass is also made from paper and coco-peat is used in place of clay.Intentionally only natural things are used for this decoration and no polystyrene (thermocole) or plastic. We also tried to use no lights in the decoration to save the electricity.10 members from Apte family worked all evenings for 4 weeks.
