We look up to a leader who inspires us, who help us bring the better within us. Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, who led the Quit India Movement and one of the founding members of Republic of India is one such leader. It was Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel who united India at its most trying times post-Independence, integrating nearly 550 princely states. Also known as the Iron Man of India. A man of ideologies was given the tag of Sardar (meaning chief) for standing up for the people in Bardoli, Gujarat. His ideologies are: 1. Unity 2. Patriotism 3. Inclusive Growth and 4. Good Governance It’s thus with respect and love for the Sardar and in his commemoration, an iconic 182-meter-tall bronze cladded statue is being built at Sadhu-Bet island, Gujarat befitting Statue of Unity. The statue will be the tallest statue in the world. Thanawala family has been spreading awareness amongst citizens since 1987 through its thematic Ganesh pandal. This year too, Thanawala family has built an 18.2-inch-tall bronze cladded statue of Lord Ganesha where Lord Ganesha is seen in the attire of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The backdrop provides information about the construction of the statue, the project highlights, & focuses on Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel ideologies. Also, next to the statue, used iron (loha) implements are placed to show the contribution of farmers across India in building the statue. Thanawala family will also be collecting donation to help the visitors become a part of India’s only crowdfunding project. Also, to continue the digital campaign of the project, Thanawala family will be spreading awareness using the hashtag #ThanawalasMovementofUnity to reach out to more people.
